Background:
Following low adoption and poor engagement with a theory-focused Category Management process, the worlds largest mobile phone manufacture selected ADR to create a change program aimed at introducing their new indirect sourcing process to a rapidly expanding global purchasing team of 450+ staff
Aims:
The goal was to quickly and effectively design a programme of engagement and to deliver skills-based training to the sourcing team that would result in more effective application, secure commitment to use the new process and be valid for new joiners to the organisation into the future.
Project:
ADR designed a pre workshop eLearning module working with clients digital design partner which provided a valuable overview of the sourcing process, signposted the programme and built expectation and enthusiasm for the programme.
Each 3 day workshop was a high energy, practical session focussed on the real-life issues of stakeholder engagement, managing Sarbanes-Oxley issues, generating & selecting sourcing & contracting options and improving compliance to and performance within negotiated agreements.
ADR mobilised a tutor team across our global network and were able to meet the challenging programme timescales by operating several workshops simultaneously. Local language support was provided for China and South America to engage regional staff.
The workshops were then followed by a further eLearning module designed to test recall of the scope of the process, to determine the level and type of application to date, and to capture and share the successes and benefits attained across the global team.
ADR also advised on the role and governance structure of the new sourcing process - to ensure that there was a cascading set of objectives and expectations from applying the process
Results:
Through incorporation of best practise examples and experiences from each event into subsequent workshops, the delegates felt involved and valued, and cross-business knowledge and learning were effectively shared. Delegate feedback showed great support and motivation to apply the tools and skills learnt due to the highly practical and targeted method they were introduced.
The client was left with stand alone eLearning modules which can be used by future employees regardless of workshop attendance, providing a convenient and cost effective solution for continuity.
