FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: 17 OCTOBER 2007
ADR INTERNATIONAL AND NG BAILEY WIN NATIONAL TRAINING AWARD
Global procurement specialists ADR International have won
a National Training Award with their partner NG Bailey, the
leading mechanical and electrical construction firm. It is
the third time ADR International has won a National Training
Award.
The Yorkshire-based firm brought in ADR International two
years ago as part of a training and development programme
for more than 700 operations executives, senior operational
managers, design and project staff and its core UK procurement
team of 25.
As part of the programme four procurement executives have
already reached NVQ level 4 accredited by the University of
Glamorgan and several more are expected to attain the qualification,
which entitles them to membership of the Chartered Institute
of Purchasing and Supply.
Martin Bailey, Director and Chief Innovation Officer at NG
Bailey, said: "I'm extremely pleased. This award reinforces
our belief in the importance of training and development for
our people, which has always been a key driver for the business.
"It also shows our commitment to the importance of maintaining
the best supply chain in the sector. I would like to thank
our people at NG Bailey who have taken part in this for their
commitment and ADR International for their expertise. I look
forward to reaping further benefits from this partnership
in the future."
John Matthews of ADR International said: "We are very fortunate
to work with such a forward-thinking organisation which is
focused on training and development in a very traditional
industry.
"It is a challenge to ensure that first class procurement
skills are applied in an industry in which by its nature is
often fragmented."
Julie Daine, senior buyer at NG Bailey, one of the four procurement
professionals to have reached NVQ level 4, said: "ADR have
given us the skills and tools that we have put in place of
the past year and which have brought us many benefits."
Ian Heptinstall, director of supply chain at NG Bailey, said:
"It's a fantastic result and an acknowledgement of all the
hard work by a lot of people.
"We have had excellent results with ADR International whose
expertise has been recognised and appreciated in the business.
As well as helping inform us they have also challenged us
which is what we were looking for."
Kathryn Cook, the chair of the National Training Awards' South
East judging panel, said: "The award was given to these companies
because of the significant benefits that the training brought
to both.
"It not only had positive results for NG Bailey and its procurement
team, but also allowed ADR to offer additional services to
its clients."
ADR International and NG Bailey will collect the award at
a national event in London on 13 December.
