Roche selected ADR International Purchasing Consultants to create two classroom training programs for the global Sourcing Manager community.

The courses were Negotiation Skills and Sourcing Skills. The training was designed to deliver best practice techniques to address the needs of experienced Procurement Professionals and those transitioning into a Strategic Sourcing role.

The objectives of the program were to achieve common ways of working and terminology for Sourcing and Negotiation to a team of over 200 Sourcing Managers. The training was customised to fit the Roche sourcing environment. This goal was to drive immediate value benefits following the classroom training by the participants applying the tools and techniques on real-life supplier scenarios.

Roche subject matter experts worked with ADR to design the tailored training. The courses provide a range of techniques and strategies for stakeholder engagement, supplier selection and management, and effective communication approaches.

By the end of 2011, more than 100 people had taken part in each of the courses and the evaluation feedback was highly positive. In 2012, Roche will launch an exciting Learning Academy for the Global Procurement Team. The Learning Academy is an innovative tool, providing an online environment for the global Roche Procurement community to access personal development support, and training via webinar, eLearning and classroom modes. As the preferred training provider, ADR will be providing a range courses, in partnership with the Institute of Supply Management.

The Procurement Professionals who attended the ADR courses have been impressed with the expertise and insights provided to them, and are keen to extend their knowledge in the Academy.  The Academy’s blended learning approach will enable a wider procurement audience to access personal learning solutions to address their individual development needs.
